Turkey Kofta Curry

Ingredients:
1 pound ground turkey (or substitute with any ground meat of your choice)
1 green chili, chopped
1 inch fresh ginger, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
¼ tsp garam masala
¼ tsp salt
3 tbsp cilantro leaves, chopped
2 tbsp vegetable oil
½ tsp cumin seeds
1 small onion, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 inch fresh ginger, minced
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin powder
½ tsp chili powder
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 (14oz) can diced tomatoes
Salt to taste
Chopped (coriander) cilantro leaves for garnishing
Directions:
To prepare koftas or meatballs, place the ground turkey, green chili, garlic, ginger, garam masala, cilantro and salt in a food processor. Process all of the ingredients until blended.
Scoop spoonfuls of the mixture and form into balls with your hands for a total of 16 meatballs.
Place meatballs in a bowl, cover and leave in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes.
Heat the oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the cumin seeds and fry until they crackle.
Add the chopped onion, garlic and ginger and cook for about 5 minutes.
Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, cumin, coriander powder and simmer for 5 minutes.
Place the meatballs in the sauce and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for about 25 minutes or until meatballs for cooked.
Remove from heat and garnish with cilantro leaves. Serve with rice or any flat bread of your choice.
