Delicious recipe for the popular Karahi chicken dish.
1/2kg chicken, cut into small pieces
1 big onion, thinly sliced
2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
200g tomatoes, finely diced
1/2 tbsp chilly powder
1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp coriander leaves paste
1 tbsp garam masala
1/2 tsp sugar
Heat the oil in a wok/ karahi or large deep pan.
Add the onion slices and cook for 5 minutes.
Add in the ginger and garlic paste. Stir and cook for about 1 minutes.
Stir in all the spices and the tomatoes. Fry for 5 minutes.stirring and sprinkling water occasionally.
When oil shows on the surface, add the chicken. Cook on low heat for 20 minutes.
Remove from heat and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve.
