Mayura
Restaurant Review:
Mayura, is one of the best Indian restaurants in LA for South Indian Food especially their unique and fabulously spiced dishes from the state of Kerala. They offer a vast and varied Indian menu ranging from Samosas, Dosas, and Vadas to Appams, Biryanis, and Tikka Masalas.
Tried the Kerala Special Appams, pancakes made with fermented rice flour and the amazingly flavored Fish Curry - it’s a must try. All of their Kerala Specialties are highly recommended along with the Dosas, Biryanis, and Curries. Their buffet offerings are vast and very good and are a popular option any day of the week. They get 5 stars for their personable service. Don't miss a visit if you're anywhere in the vicinity.

Mayura's "Things in a Bowl" Review
Mayura restaurant has a special Thali or "Things in a Bowl" platter for Los Angeles Times Food Bowl Festival during the month of May. The excellent Thali consists of more than a dozen small bowls of various dishes with rice, a side of Naan, Appam (fermented rice pancake), and a drink of your choice (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). There are options for vegetarians as well as non-vegetarians. The non-vegetarian option consisted of delicious, lip-smacking dishes which included chicken korma, chicken tikka, lamb korma, shrimp curry, saag paneer, vegetable avial, fresh beans poriyal, mixed vegetable korma, sambar, daal, rice, special masala mashed potatoes and gulab jamun for dessert. The thali or platter is pictured here:
