Fish Cooked in Banana Leaves
A quick and easy delicious fish recipe that shows you how to cook fish on a banana leaf.
300g white fish steaks, scaled & rinsed
4 tsp fermented bamboo shoots
2 tsp mustard seeds
2 green chilis
25ml mustard oil
1/2 tsp salt
Fresh banana leaf
Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
Grind the mustard seeds and chilies into a paste.
Cut the banana leaf into the size of a large pan's surface. Rinse it and pat dry with a kitchen towel.
Brush the banana leaf with oil.
Apply the bamboo shoots, mustard and chilly paste, mustard oil, and salt to the fish steaks and set aside.
Heat the banana leaf on a large pan.
Place the fish pieces on the banana leaf. Cover the pan, reduce heat and cook for 15 minutes.
Remove from heat. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
