Classic Pesto

Classic Pesto Recipe
Prep Time:

Ingredients: 
2 cups basil leaves
1 cup olive oil
1/2 cup pine nuts
3 garlic cloves
1 cup Parmesan cheese
Directions: 
Add pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, basil leaves, and garlic cloves in a food processor.
Process the ingredients until blended into a slightly coarse paste.
With the food processor running, slowly add the olive oil until blended well. Use a spatula to scoop the mixture into a bowl. Serve.

Ways to use this Classic Pesto

This classic pesto goes well as a bread spread, dip for bread or sauce for chicken and pasta. It is a delightful summer treat.

Mix with pasta: You can serve pesto with pasta. In a large bowl, mix cooked pasta with pesto and stir to mix properly. Serve right away.

Top your breakfast: It is a great ingredient that can be used in many dishes. You can add it on your eggs to achieve the taste of herbs.

Pizza sauce: Use this classic pesto instead of tomato sauce on your pizza. It will add an entirely different flavor so use it sparingly.
